Am I the only one who actually likes Manny? He's one of my favorite players of the era, I just don't want him anywhere near the 2012 Orioles.

I love Manny! I love flakes and kooks!

And most importantly like you said... not on this team! NO! N-O.... NO!

I agree it would be more ideal...but Nick could be an excellent lead off hitter, SB's or not.

I agree with you here Rob. If he was a real threat on the bases he'd be like a "double threat". That's why Brian is/was so good. But Nick has a fine OBP. And he's shown PLENTY in the past... that many many times he will get him self to second base. BAM! Leadoff double.

Nick's not a primo candidate, but he's a VERY good candidate.

Would signing Manny light a fire of determination for Davis, Reimold, etc. ? This could be a Buck endorsement move. Plus, Duq is aware if Manny = extra $ revenue, which PA will always endorse. He was a great hitter, yet the additional baggage & headaches that come along with him are the worriment. I'm sure glad I lived & breathed thru our glory years. Can you imagine what today's payroll value would be for the 1970 team? We would not have been able to afford it.
