Patting yourself on the back in this thread at this moment? Interesting choice. Reminds me of another poster who used to dominate this place.

JJ isn't irreplaceable but I hope you realize that it isn't as simple as inserting Hunter or O'Day to "solve" the problem. I love O'Day but I'm particularly surprised so many are pushing for him. Lefties are KILLING him this year. No good team can have a closer that can't face lefties.

I personally advocate a match up process for now. We'll see how it goes.

This would totally be the way to go for the time being. Johnson, obviously would still be a big part of this match-up process. I simply can't believe that, behind closed doors (not in front of the media), Buck, with some imput from DD, is not at least be considering it.

I feel bad for Gonzo. I'm probably wrong, but it seems like JJ has done this to him a few times. Anyone know how many wins he's cost the starters at this point?

This is the second time he's ruined a win for Gonzalez, most of any pitcher. Of Johnson's 6 blown saves this year:

5/14 vs. SD: Game started by Tillman, winning pitcher would've been O'Day

5/18 vs. TB: Game started by Jurrjens, winning pitcher would've been Jurrjens

5/20 vs. NYY: Game started by Garcia, winning pitcher would've been Patton

5/26 at TOR: Game started by Gonzalez, winning pitcher would've been Gonzalez

6/26 vs. CLE: Game started by Hammel, winning pitcher would've been Matusz

7/5 at NYY: Game started by Gonzalez, winning pitcher would've been Gonzalez

Didn't he ruin his playoff start last year too?

I don't want to hear any complaints about Buck's non answers during the postgame. When I complained about it earlier this season, just about everyone jumped all over me.

A direct question wasn't asked. Have no issue with how he answers.

You know, the Ravens change a clear problem (Cam) and win a Super Bowl. Not to mention signing key players in the off season (McKinnie, Pollard, Graham, Boldin a few years ago, etc.) and they WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP! That is what good organizations do! You identify your weaknesses and you change them. This game tonight looked JUST LIKE game 5 of ALDS last year. Yet, here we are. Same b.s. Bad bullpen management, no offense, untimely errors.
