No, it's not. When you posted it he was struggling. I'm sure the numbers have leveled off a bit.

I think scOtt is right, he needs to pitch to contact. Or as I said, pitching backwards where his FB is NOT featured but his CB and CH see a much higher percentage.

Looking at fangraphs through his SSS of 170 FBs he's 90.8 to last year's 91.0, so not sure there's really any velo drop.

If that is true maybe it's just tonight, but I've never seen him as a pitcher who puts his FB by you though a few mph can make the difference in how fine you have to be throughout the game as it progresses.

I seem to remember him starting off at 92-93 in the first couple of innings and going down from there. It doesn't matter if he's around the plate and pitching to contact, if not he'll have problems.
