Man, he doesn't get rattled. He pitched out of a bases loaded jam. Again. That split CH was nasty early on and the breaking pitch (I won't call it a slider) looked different. More downward angle than the slider and throwing with more command in the zone. Even as a get me over pitch it's effective enough to keep hitters from sitting dead red on the FB.

I don't know how they keep him out of the PO rotation if he keeps this up.

Why the reluctance to call his breaking pitch a slider?

Bud had better step up. Gausman gets better every outing, and not by just a little bit. He doesn't even start to throw hard now until he's in a tough spot.

David stepped it up today.

He matched Gausman's 7 shutout innings in the nitecap of today's doubleheader against the Yankees. :cool:
