You can no longer give a QO to a player you trade for after the season has started.

I get that. I was asking if he's a guy that Cleveland would be offering the QO to. If they would, that increases the floor of what they would accept in a deal, I would imagine.

Bob just lies and deletes. Like some folks we have had here. No thanks for that.

Boston has fielded interest in Jon Lester from the Dodgers, reports Gordon Edes of ESPNBoston.com. The sides have not made much headway, however. Los Angeles has long been said to be chasing another starter, and appear to have the kind of top-end prospects that would greatly entice the Sox (if they are willing to part with them).

You have to offer as much as 16 million. Is he worth that for a season? I don't know.

Career 20 WAR shortstop (career 105 ops+) with two all star games and garnered MVP votes one season next year will only be his age 29 season. I could see him landing a multi year deal, 5 years 55 million or something like that. Yankees need a shortstop (and a second baseman for that matter) next season, I think he'd turn it down no matter what.

They all do. Everyone knew that Seattle was crazy to offer qualifying to Kendrys Morales. Everyone. And yet, Kendrys and his representation decided they were the smartest guys in the room. And they and Seattle paid dearly for that thought.
