What a crazy game. I loved the shot of George Brett in jubilant disbelief at the end, and I find it pretty amusing that the A's went all in this year for naught. One thing I saw for certain -- if the O's would play KC in the ALCS, I sure hope that Joseph would be starting most of the games behind the dish. The Royals won that game in large part through Derek Norris's inability to throw out baserunners -- even during a pitchout. I'll live with the 0-for-30-something skid if he can keep KC from running rampant like they just did last night.

So how does a catcher who is weak on steals get the starting job on a playoff team? My son catches and we're starting to learn about pop times and how to even be considered for any level of pro ball you've got to be very low on those times.
