This move makes the most sense. If he isn't hitting above replacement then he's really not that valuable. Lough is the better defender. I hope we can somehow keep DeAza though. He seems like a likeable guy and can produce in short spurts.

If your implying that you think De Aza accepts a minor league assignment then prepare to be disappointed.

Wow, that is shocking. How often is a veteran hitter DFA'd after playing in a team's six most recent games (starting five)? I wonder if something happened behind the scenes, maybe they have a trade worked out already. It is unlike the Orioles to flush nearly $4 million down the toilet.
