Nothing against Alejandro. Seems like a likeable and nice guy, but I can't stand watching him play.

Good for De Aza. He'll likely go unclaimed and get on a team where he can get a little more playing time.

This move makes the most sense. If he isn't hitting above replacement then he's really not that valuable. Lough is the better defender. I hope we can somehow keep DeAza though. He seems like a likeable guy and can produce in short spurts.

Wow, that is shocking. How often is a veteran hitter DFA'd after playing in a team's six most recent games (starting five)? I wonder if something happened behind the scenes, maybe they have a trade worked out already. It is unlike the Orioles to flush nearly $4 million down the toilet.
