It has been reported the 6.5M of Hardy's contract is deferred but no word yet on how it is distributed of the contract term.

I'd rather have the draft pick then the salary leeway. :(

Completely agree. I really hate giving up draft picks and international bonus slots in an apparent effort to save money. But then again, it's not my money so it's easy for me to say that!

The International signing period resets on July 2nd. Hopefully next year we actually spend all of our international draft slot money. I'm not holding my breath. At least this year they managed to trade some of the unused portion instead of it going to waste like last year.

I was just looking at the DSL rosters and the talent pool looks horrible. Of course the stats don't matter yet. Just the very few players on either team that are under the age of 20. Given the little amount of money we have produced some top level talent. Schoop and Ed Rod. I'd say Jomar Reyes is in our top 5. But like someone mentioned before, DD worked at one of these academies while he was out of a GM job, so I don't think it's his philosophy.
