@ChrisCotillo: Zobrist market is robust. PIT, WSH, NYY, CHC, NYM have all been involved, in addition to KC.

Hah and some posters suggested he could be had cheaply. There was always going to be a bidding war over his services.

Oakland tinkered too much. And trade away part of what made them successful. KC hasn't really done that.

Their run differential is five off Baltimore's. I'd say Oakland is doing what it can to put together a competitive club on a tighter budget.
