I was all for exploring a trade. But when guys like Chapman and the SD closer weren't moved, maybe the return available wasn't worth it. There was a good supply of closers available this summer.

That's what made Britton such a great trade opportunity. His cost/control was actually worth the packages others were asking for their closers. Cubs would have given-up good talent for Britton, no question.
