Chris Jones Traded to Angels

Last year, Salcedo played at 4 different levels of the minors ...... Regular A, Advanced-A, AA, and AAA.

Somewhat similar to Kyle Hudson in 2011. Husdon started that season at Advanced-A Frederick, then was promoted to AA-Bowie, then was promoted to AAA-Norfolk, then was promoted to the Orioles in September.

And whatever happened to Kyle Hudson?

The Orioles released him following the 2011 season, and he was signed by the Rangers. He was traded a few times over the next few years to the Rays, the Phillies, the Angels, and the Dodgers, but never reached the Majors again with any of them.

He is officially a free agent at the moment.

It's nice that we got something. Maybe DD is looking for a David Lough type of guy. Who knows

That was in January of 2015.

He gave that up when the Dodgers offered him a Minor League contract 5 months later, in June of 2015.

This is true. But he is back with Illinois again this season. I'm sure he would leave again if offered a chance someplace.

1427 minor league AB's and 0 HR's. That's pretty hard to do.

Yea, you'd figure at some point somebody would be trying to convert a 330-lb catcher to OF, Hudson would hit a liner his way, he'd fall down, and by the time somebody fished the ball out of the corner Hudson would be in the dugout.

Those are Salcedo's number. I wonder how many minor/major leagues past or current have more ABs without a HR in the modern era

Right you are... Wow, he once had a season with 468 PAs and eight extra base hits. .026 ISO. Astonishing. He's a modern-day Roy Thomas, just without the high averages or tons of walks.

I think a guy named Mike McGeary might hold the MLB record for longest career (2507 PAs) without a homer, but he played in the 1870s. Luis Gomez may hold the post-1920 record at 1391.

Edit: Tim Johnson had more homerless PAs than Gomez. As a rookie in '73 Johnson had a .213/.259/.243 line in 510 PAs.
