The Next Four

Minnesota had some decent pitching, but in the next four games the Orioles will see Archer, Smyly, Odorizzi and Price. The Red Sox in their infinite wisdom have elected to push Price back 3 days so he can start at Fenway on opening day. Bad luck for the O's.

All of these pitchers strikeout a ton of guys. Tampa had 46 strikeouts in the four game Toronto series and Price K'd 10 on opening day. Should be interesting to see how the Orioles do and adjust. If they have a weakness is might be these four pitchers and their ability to rack up strike outs.

Can't look it up right now, but we beat Archer 2-3 times last year and have done pretty well in prior years too. I think we've done OK against Price, too.

Sounds bad, but they hit Price pretty well...Archer too. I wouldn't be surprised to see them shut down by Odorizzi and Smyly out of that 4.

The Oriole's pitchers struck out 35 batters in their first three games (3rd best in MLB), and pitched to a combined ERA of 1.67 (2nd best in MLB).

Maybe the Rays are the ones that should be worried.

Their pitching is strong, but their lineup's going to have a tough time keeping up.

Vs. Orioles:

Archer: 1-2, 3.04 in 4 starts in 2015; 2-4, 4.44 career in 8 starts and 1 relief appearance)

Odorizzi: 2-0, 3.93 in 3 starts in 2015; 2-2, 4.79 career in 7 starts and 1 relief appearance.

Smyly: 1-1, 0.49 in 2 starts in 2015; 4-0, 1.82 career in 5 starts and 3 relief appearances.

Price: 1-1, 1.29 in 2 starts in 2015; 8-4, 2.65 in 19 starts

Can't say that's an easy 4 games, but they're all beatable.

vs. 2016 Roster

SP AVG .300+ (at least 8 AB's)

Price .280 Davis, Hardy, Trumbo, Wieters, AJ .265

Archer .268 Davis, Flash, Hardy, Machado...Wieters holds his own at .267...Schoop is 3-5.....Archer owns AJ .091 (NO chance he plays tonight)

Odorizzi .232 AJ

Smyly .155 CJ and Wieters is 2-5 against him, aside from that, no one hits Smyly well
