Man, Ubaldo has been such a disappointment.

2014- 125.1 IP, 4.81 ERA, 1.516 WHIP

2015- 184 IP, 4.11 ERA, 1.359 WHIP

2016- 27 IP, 5.20 ERA, 1.699 WHIP

Very frustrating. He has simply not been worth the money. Not even in 2015.

Lines up quite nicely with the fact that Ubaldo abandoned his four seam fastball in 2015 and threw primarily his two seam fastball. In 2016; he's back to throwing the four seamer.

A lot of good pitchers are struggling early this year, not just Ubaldo and other O's pitchers. Look at the ERAs for some of these other guys:

Adam Wainwright (6.68), Clay Buchholz (6.51), Justin Verlander (6.49), Michael Pineda (6.33), David Price (6.14), Mike Leake (5.83), Zack Greinke (5.50), and Dallas Keuchel (5.11)

I also noticed that, among all of the Ubaldo-bashing. Many of them are doing a lot worse than Ubaldo. He's pitching Friday, let's give him a chance.
