Because it was one inch (or one centimeter) from being enough. That's what I mean by bad luck. I don't mean we didn't make a mistake, I use the word luck as a substitute for fortune or chance. To be that close to good, but to have it end up bad, it just sucks, and it is really, really an example of something just not going our way.

This wasn't Rickard's fault. He thought the ball hit the wall. Going back to 1B would have been dumb in that case.

Doesn't matter.. if he thought it hit the wall. A runner with 1 out isn't going until the ball hits the ground.

World Series winning clubs never make a baserunning mistake the entire season? I'm literally LOL.

Crucial mistakes like that? NO. I was a huge fan of the Yanks during their good years in the 90s'00s and we did NOT make mistakes like that.
