A win tomorrow would be nice. A seven game winning streak each calendar month will do it quite nicely.
Mission accomplished.

Isn't nice to string wins up? This team was not very good at that in past seasons.

If they can put together a 7-game winning streak each month, they can go 10 games below .500 in the other 120 games and still finish with 97 wins.

Still 10 over.86 wins if we play .500 from here on out.

We know we have at least a .500 team here in the worst of times' date=' so all we need to do is extend our lead until we have more than 90 wins if we play .500 from then onward ;)

In absolute terms, that means if we win [b']the rest of this week[/b] until Sunday (Tuesday - Sunday), and then play exactly .500 ball from that point forward, we would have 92 wins and a great chance to at least grab a wild card. That's how powerful "going on a tear" can really be, and the funny thing is it doesn't matter when you do it. That's the power of our 7-0 still propelling us forward.

Last year at the end of the season there were 15 teams above .500, one team at .500 (us), and 14 teams below .500. So you don't have to be good to be .500; it's exactly average.

If we go on one more extended winning streak -- the sooner the better, IMO -- the team could actually regress to playing .500 ball for the remainder of the season, and still catch the playoffs.

The Orioles are 11 games over .500 for the first time since September of 2014.

No, they are 11 games over .500 for the first time since Wieters hit his 3-run homer in Anaheim to win the second game of that series on May 21 of this year. The O's were 26-15 as of then. A win tonight would set a new high water mark for 2016.

OK, thanks.

I'll fix it.

The Orioles are 11 games over .500 for the first time since May 21st.

If you subtract the 7-game winning streak that they had to start the season, they are 4 games over .500.

If you subtract both of the Orioles' 7 game winning streaks that they have had this season, they are 3 games under .500.

If you subtract all 34 wins that the Orioles have had this season, they are 23 games under .500.

Wow that's pretty bad...but wouldn't they be 57 games under .500?
