Cuban Dairon Blanco a fit for the O's

wildcard

He is fast, young, plays right field and may come relatively cheap. He might not be the O's starting right fielder but he may be one of a few outfielders that Dan Duquette tries to add to the O's this off season.

Scouting report says he has a LFers arm.

I have not read that but if it is true is still could be a fit for the O's has the replacement for Reimold that platoons with Kim in left. Rickard as move get some playing time in right. The O's would still need to add a right fielder. Blanco may need to start the year in the minors. But he is the kind of leadoff hitter the would add some of the speed that the O's need.

I still like Roman Quinn of the Phillies. The O's need to add more than one outfielder this off season.

Here something I read about Blanco:

At 6 feet, 175 pounds, Blanco is an excellent athlete who has been a solid performer in Cuba, though he?s still more raw tools than baseball skills and would have to start his career in the minor leagues. He can beat out infield hits to first base in under 4.0 seconds from the right side of the plate, but he hasn?t shown natural hitting rhythm and actions. Blanco split his time between center and right field in 2015-16, and while his defensive instincts looked shaky at times, he did win a gold glove during the 2014-15 season.
