They did, but they can afford it. And they got three years of Chris Sale for $38 million (a good bit less than the Dodgers will be paying Rich Hill).

Anyone make it up to the Winter Meetings yet or planning on checking it out?  I may be heading over there tomorrow afternoon.  Wanted to get an idea of what there might be to do from a fan standpoint.

I think that would spark their interest. I really really want Eaton. He's basically a  better version of Nick Markakis (in his prime). And would be the lead off hitter they've so desperately needed for year. I'd part with Harvey too (over Sisco) for Eaton. He's worth it. Just don't give up Gausman or Bundy.

That extra OF's quote makes me think he was talking about Steve Pearce.  Pearce seemed like he signed for a very fair value and would have been a nice fall back option from Trumbo.
