Breaking: DD has interest in Hammel

Why would he view him as just an NL pitcher, after what he did for us in 2012?    When he's right, he's quite good.    But I think he's too pricy for us.

Jason is what he is, a very good pitcher for the first 100 innings of a season and from there he tapers off real fast. He'd do well to be pitched every 6th day or skipped a decent amount to stands a chance at lasting a whole season for once.

I believe some others said he was just an NL pitcher, not DD.

Not sure how someone who doesn't seem to have a market can be seen as too pricey.

Honestly, that article just looks like more typical DD talk. He hasn't ruled out interest in anyone...but doesn't say he's interested in them either.

I am looking at the pitchers on the market and judging by what is out there, it seems to me that he's going to get a decent payday.

Maybe. But teams that need pitching haven't been clamoring to get Hammel...yet.

Nothing that has been leaked at any rate.

My guess is that his number is high and a few teams are waiting for it to drop.

That very well could be. I'd take Hammel on a 1 year deal, but nothing more. I'd rather have him than Jimenez.

I'd suspect he's looking for a 3 year deal probably in the 40-45m range.

Most fans and Dd would rather have nothing than Jimenz. Unfortunately, all other MLB teams feel the same way.
