Drake pitched for five MLB teams in 2018. That's pretty amazing! I don't remember anyone doing that, although I'm assuming it's not a record. Very wild.

He just got claimed by the Rays from the Twins today, which is another notch on his belt. Let's see where he is on opening day...

Dave Kingman played for four teams in 1977.

Thanks for checking! I guess it is a slightly ignominious record, but better than getting paid minor league salary. And five teams thought enough of him to give him a shot.

Suitcase Simpson moved around a lot, but not five teams in the same season.  I believe Steve Pearce has played for all five AL East teams, but obviously not all in the same season.

"Kong" was a big part of both New York teams' season that year.

 

In June, he (along with Tom Seaver) was part of the "Midnight Massacre", when both of their most prolific players were traded on the same day (June 15th.)

 

In late September he helped the Yankees hold off the Orioles and the Red Sox to claim the AL East title, although he was ineligible for the postseason roster because he was picked up after the August 31st cutoff date.
