I can understand the O's not giving up on him last year when he still had another year under contract.  But now that he's a lame duck, there's no excuse not to cut him once Tillman is ready to come back.  He goes on hot stretches when his mechanics pop into place, but most of the time he has terrible mechanics and no command, which leads to short starts.  I think either Asher or Aquino are better candidates for the rotation for the rest of this year.

He only cost us a 1st round draft pick, 4 years of stress and over $40m for awful performance. Duquette is to starting pitching as Ozzie is to wide receivers.

They talk about pitchers throwing non competitive pitches. This guy has non competitive outings. You know it's bad when the guy cries after his only good start of the year and gets pied. 

It's time for him to go. It's embarrassing. Start Asher until Tillman is back.

Another example of a mid tier FA pitcher signing. Some work out but it doesn't seem many do.

All this garbage pitching we are seeing and Vance Worley isn't even in the big leagues. Not saying he is great. Seems to be all about money. Nobody wants to pay someone his contract for a swing man role.

Just looked at Norfolk roster and stats, we have nothing there! I have no doubt we should replace these three pitchers ASAP!

It's crazy how many of these threads could probably be bumped over the last 4 years and would read the exact same.  He's been so bad for so long.

And some folks were just so excited that the owner was finally willing to pay for a FA pitcher.

Even today it's hard to fathom that they gave up a pick to sign someone who failed the physical.

Worst thing is the way he impacts the pen. I mean he handcuffs the roster. Other pitchers may have off days but with Ubaldo you have to prepare for it as if it is a regular occurrence.

That was the worst. And cut a cheap, optionable guy knowing Gallardo was injured goods.
