This is a franchise that gave 10 million to Jay Payton over two years.

Sure, why not? They've certainly pissed away more money on crappier players over the years.  As long as that 1 million isn't prohibiting us from signing draft picks or something, I wouldn't mind.

Also wouldn't expect Fister to be productive.  Like a Vegas hooker trying to get by on the little looks she's got left, there's not much going for Fister these days as he's been ridden hard and put away wet over the years.

Yeah, cause let's get a guy who was meh in the NL East and AL West last year to pitch for us. This guy is an extreme flyball pitcher and you all want him pitching in the AL East?

He sucks but he'd instantly be our second or third best starter, sadly.

Rather this than send something to Atlanta to pay 3x the cost for Dickey.

How is 31% fly balls for his career extreme?  Extremely low?   League average is 44%.

We want him to pitch for the Orioles ...... who just happen to be in the AL East ....... and who as a team have about as many viable alternatives to him pitching in their starting rotation as a convict has in getting to choose between life in prison without the possibility of parole and the death penalty.

He had a 4.64 ERA last year.  I'd take that.  This guy has a better resume than Gallardo and we gave him 2/28 and sacrificed a 1st rd pick.  So why not?

I have dealt with him a few times. Nice guy,who does charity with his wife for Vets. I am just not sure what he has left. But can he be worse then Edwin Jackson?

Minor league deal with opt out in a month. Not sure there are many teams with a better opportunity for him than the Orioles if he can pitch half decently for a few games in Norfolk.
