Of course it's a problem. But what are WE going to do about it? Boycott the O's? Like I said, PA isn't listening.

We have complained in the past, and I think it did make a difference.  Remember way back in the day - going back to Pat Gillick's era - he vetoed a big Bobby Bonilla trade.  He used to be very active in preventing O's front offices from doing their jobs.  We complained a lot, and I think that did make a difference.  Until Monday, I hadn't heard him getting involved in trades in many years.

I wonder if the Dodgers prospects had "injury questions" too?

Yep, and the Orioles were dead on.

The truth is that the Orioles medical staff has been really good on this issue no matter how much people want to make fun of them.

Yeah, I wouldn't call that the owner interfering.

So if Buck went behind DD back and went to Angelis, and said something along the lines "I'm not managing a rebuilding team" is Buck clueless and needs to go to? Just curious, since all the venom is towards PA.

If so the answer would be yes imo

I don't see any mention of what trade they were talking about -- I suppose it's reasonable to assume it was a trade with the Orioles involving Britton, but it doesn't actually say that.

And, per Rosenthal's article this morning, it actually wasn't.

Guys, I'm glad, in this case that he vetoed the trade. If Miller and Chapman brought back all that talent to the Yankees, there is no way we could accept anything less for Britton. We can't just trade him to trade him. he had to bring a huge return. if his injury this year brought his value down, then Angelos did the right thing to let him stay here and bring his value back up for next year. It is very rare for me to say anything good about angelos, but in this case, I think he did the right thing.

I don't agree that we had to do as well as the Yankees did for Chapman and Miller.    Market conditions change from year to year, and of course, the player's performance affects it too.    The Yankees had a perfect storm and pounced on it; that situation may never arise for the Orioles.    So for me, the question isn't, "did we get as much as the Yankees got?"    It's "did we get enough where the short term loss is outweighed by the long term gain, and what are the chances that we might get a better deal at a future time?"
