And I love me some draft picks.

I'm doubt he'd insta-accept.  It's a non-zero chance, but I don't think he would.

We only have two starters set to return next season (Gausman and Bundy), so even overpaying on a one year deal doesn't seem like the worst thing in the world.

How would you approach it.

I know the FO doesn't like opt-outs, but I think something like 3/$39MM with an opt-out after year 2 would be quite fair for both sides.  No massive investment for the Os and Tillman would have the chance to reestablish worth and hit the market.

Unless Tillman really shows me something I don't go more than one year with a team option.  He's been pretty miserable this year and is he fully healthy?

If Tillman does anything down the stretch I would probably do the QO. Like Wieters, the worst case scenario is a veteran player on a 1 year deal.

Way too much money. I don't see anyone giving him that much. It is possible he could have an incentive deal based on innings pitched.

I would. That is a ton of money. Any one year deal gives him a chance to re establish himself.
