I think he may be best served to take it and try to rebuild value for a better next contract, but there's a risk aversion case to be made for trying to get something like $50MM++/4 or 5 if he thinks someone would pay it.

If he was healthy and having an off year like 2015 I agree.

He would jump at taking the QO. No team is going to give that much money for one year of a player with his health/production issues and lose 2 picks. His agent would be a fool not to take it. A team will try to find another Andrew Cashner type.

A base around $7-8M with a ton of incentives that could double his contract if he hits them all.

Huge mistake to offer it, Tillman isn't going to get a multi-year contract from another team and give up a draft pick.  He gladly accept the QO and try to rebound in 2018.
