Only with better meal money.

I am working on a series of silly poems set in the Fruitcake League. The first piece, echoing the proverbial "Hope springs eternal," begins with the line:

I hope Spring Training's eternal!

14-2.

The was the score of the first game that I had seen at the new Yankee Stadium in 1977, with the 1st-place Orioles getting pounded by the New Yorkers.

I had previously only been to the original stadium in 1971.

That line up wouldn't be a .500 team in Triple A.  I cant believe no one has been fired yet. Buck says elvauating young players but most of those guys aren't young.  The only ones who should be in the team next year are Villar, Mullins and Wynns.  The team is an embarrassment.

That 5-9 bottom of the order is brutal and would struggle in AAA.  The top of the order isn't anything to brag about of course.

I don’t know what this team sees in Andreoli.  He is another AAAA type who can’t hit enough to win play everyday.

I would rather see DJ Stewart or Yaz up.  Even if they don't produce you reward guys in your system.  No reason to pick a random mediocre career minor league from another system. Seems like Buck and DD are putting a nail in the coffin of their baseball careers.
