After going 2/4 this afternoon, Davis is up to a .140 average, an increase of 31 points from this morning.

7 for 17 with 3 doubles and a homer since breaking his oh-fer.   He’s looking pretty hitterish this week.   Crowd was into it, too.

Got robbed of a HR tonight, and I think he may have had another XBH robbed in another game as well by stellar defense.  He's definitely making better contact and the results are starting to follow.

If you follow the link, his EV and Hard Hit % are among the best in the league.  Also, his barrel % is closer to 2015 and 2016 than 2017 and 2018.

It raised Davis' career ERA from 0.00 to 3.00.?

Did Davis set another record for longest time between innings pitched?   6 years, 349 days.

Not the longest.  After joining the Yankees and moving to the outfield, Babe Ruth went from 1921 (second year with NY) when he pitched two games, to 1930 when he started a game (and got a complete game win!).  He would again start a single game in 1933, also a CG win.

So the Babe had around 9 years, give or take a few months, between pitching.

Although it wouldn't surprise me if a career minor leaguer may have done that at both ends of his career.  Interesting trivia question.

EDIT:

Just found out the correct answer is Paul Schreiber, who went 22 years between ML pitching appearances!  Source:  https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/schrepa01.shtml

The rust is showing in his pitch efficiency. In 2012, he needed only 23 pitches over two innings to seal the victory. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BOS/BOS201205060.shtml

Today it was 22 pitches in one inning. I wonder if Hyde considered whether throwing that many pitches was a risk injury-wise.
