At the risk of provoking him into a 4 for 4 day, Dustin Pedroia looks done to me.     He’s much slower than before and the ball just doesn’t come off his bat with much impact.    He’s under contract through 2021.    I wonder if the Red Sox will carry him that long.

The Red Sox lost another game in which Sale started, although he pitched reasonably well (5 innings Pitched, 2 Runs), and he did not get the L.

I had similar thoughts about him, he just doesn’t look the same.

I had always thought the source of the injury was the Machado late slide into 2B, but the article from the link below lays it out from a game vs Toronto late in 2016.

Yet another loss for Sale, who falls to 0-5 ........ his pitching line was good, as he ceded only 2 Earned Runs over 7 Innings Pitched ......... but 2 additional unearned runs scored by the opponent while he was on the mound, combined with a lack of run-support from the team's offense contributed to keeping Sale winless for the entire month of March/April.
