Chris Davis time coming to an end?

Davis is not going anywhere this year.Not going down and no loophole to not getting his pay.He signed a contract and the Orioles are stuck with it Maybe gets released sometime next year but depends on many things

No, it does not.  The only thing that could change any of the payouts are if Davis, after being released, signs a contract with another team.  The other team pays Davis the veteran's minimum, which is deducted from what the Orioles would pay.  The Orioles then pay the rest of it.  The current minimum is $555,000.  Depending on the time of year, that would also be prorated as well.  

We're stuck with Davis for the rest of the year, and I imagine the start of next year.  With manipulating service time for Mountcastle and a few others, you might start the discussion in the middle of May for the potential to release Davis.  In all likelihood, he's going to finish 2020 as an Oriole, and then that's going to be it.

It would also strain the Orioles relationship with the MLBPA, and also affect how other players view the team and their potential to sign with the club and feel that the club has their best interests at heart.

Yes.He is going to be a coach .

It won't be forever, I'm sure some of us will outlive the Davis contract.

I think they may cut Davis in the offseason. Would be cleaner to get rid of him in say November when few are focused on baseball and it would be relatively old news during spring training.

All members of the MLBPA would be on strike. Including Davis. All missed games would be deducted from his payout.
