He can.  But he also works for the owners.  The owners may not want a season under those terms.  At least that’s what Verducci hinted at in a radio interview I heard this week.

Does anybody else wish that ESPN would let the videos of the players actually finish their swing instead of drawing these big fat yellow arrows!!!
