#50THANNIVERSARY

On this day in 1970 the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Orioles 5-1.

Orioles hitters managed eight hits off of the combination of Gene Brabender and Bob Humphreys.  The lone run for the Birds came off the bat of Frank Robinson; his 3rd inning RBI single allowed Don Buford to score.

Dave McNally surrendered all 5 of the Brewers runs over 7.0 innings pitched.  He allowed 5 hits while walking 5 and striking out 8; McNally allowed 2 homeruns as well.

I was born on this day. Figures that the O’s took a hard loss... it was a good life lesson for what awaited as an Orioles from 1984 onward (a/k/a “Wayne Gross And Then Even Grosser”).
