He's living a relatively comfortable life in New Jersey' date=' still occasionally playing in summer softball leagues.

I love Buck, but he would not have done this this early. Credit to Melvin.

It's not the same thing.

Buck would have probably had a quicker hook, if the player hadn't been there and done the job for him for the previous two seasons, leading the league in saves.

If Melvin had JJ around for the previous two seasons, I suspect he would give him more rope to see if he was just in a funk.
