My church choir did JC Superstar in 1981. I was Herod. The original cast movie is the best thing AL Weber ever wrote. I have watched “the trial before pilate and the 39 lashes”  countless times.

Its a terrible show from Scripture point of view and doesn’t raise any meaningful Spiritual questions, but it’s very great music.
