If only one of the two could be moved right now, it probably makes sense to move Westburg since he’s 2+ years older than Henderson.   And yes, I would have liked for both to move.   Hopefully Henderson will move soon.

I get it but I’m so tired of the age excuse.  It’s just dumb.  Is the guy ready to be challenged more or not?  If the answer is yes, and it seems to be with him, you move him up.

Westburg and Henderson

“Those two guys have a great sibling rivalry going on where they are competing really hard against each other, but also pulling really hard for each other. We have a phrase we use, iron sharpens iron. And they are the epitome of that where they make each other better on a daily basis,” said Blood.

So naturally, they split them apart.

Reading the rest of it, it sounds like Henderson could move soon, too.    Like I've said before, you have the practical impediment that you will cost other players playing time.    In Westburg's case, there's a slot open because Ortiz moved up.   Hall and Graffanino aren't positioned to move up, so if you promote Henderson you have to find room for four guys, which is difficult.   Now at some point you just say screw it, we can't let Hall and Graffanino impede Henderson, who needs a challenge.   But I guess the O's aren't quite at that point yet.   Hall has hit well the last two weeks so they probably want him to get plenty of playing time alongside Westburg.

I read the rest of it.  I think if they wanted to move Henderson up they would have moved him.  It may be a while.

Hall can move to 2B.  I don't think Graffanino and Welk should be blocking Henderson.

That’s exactly right.

We need to stop worrying about 23-24 y/o, likely going nowhere prospects.

Move up Henderson to where he can be challenged.  He is someone you want to develop.

Any word on who is going to back fill in Delmarva?

Good question. Things are going to move around a lot, but currently these are the rookie league rosters.

GCL Orioles

DSL 1 Orioles

DSL 2 Orioles

I was just thinking this morning about prospects that have yet to debut in our organization (Heston Kjerstad, Maikol Hernandez, Coby Mayo, Samuel Bassallo, Carter Baumler, Luis Gonzalez, Luis Ortiz).

Baumler had TJ surgery, so I think it'll be a bit before you see him. Sounds like Kjerstad might not really play much this year either. I guess time will tell with him.

What we should do,

AR and Hall to AAA

GrayRod to AA

Henderson, Westburg, Haskin, and Mundy to A+

Mayo to A

We were conservative in our initial placement, now it’s time to promote the guys that have dominated thus far.

How does 3 out of 8 sound?    ;)

Grayson Rodriguez, Westburg and Mundy have already been promoted.

I wonder if both of them will get more time at short stop now that they are split up. That would be a good reason to split them up.
