Game Notes

• Ryan Mountcastle's 25 home runs leave him 3rd all time for an Oriole rookie, behind Cal Ripken (28), and Eddie Murray (27)
• Hyun-Jin Ryu has had a couple rough outings in August, allowing 7 runs each to Red Sox and the White Sox.  On August 3, his ERA for the year was 3.22.  Four starts later, it is up to 3.88.
• Cedric Mullins has 24 HRs and 24 steals.  With one more of each, he would reach the "25/25" club.   The only other Orioles to do so:  Don Baylor (25 HR, 26 steals in 1975);  Reggie Jackson (27 HR, 28 steals in 1976).
• Tonight will complete August for the Orioles.   They are 3-24 in August.   The 2012 Astros went 3-24 in July (and 3 years later they were in the playoffs).   At the time, that 3-24 month was the 5th worst month of any team in baseball history.   (The 1988 Orioles 1-22 April was the worst).   I have not been able to determine if there has been a month worse than 3-24 to crack that top 5 list since 2012.
• Austin Hays has the longest current hitting streak on the Orioles, at 7 games.
