There is nothing to complain about with this trade.

The only thing you could say is that if they waited and these guys had good first halves, you could get more.  But that could blow up in your face too.

That was my first thought this is going to be another throw away year even if Rutschman and Grayson play. 

Not that anyone is expecting a .500 or better season, but I was hoping to avoid 100 losses.

I agree fully.

1. You turned 2 relievers into 3 players and a pick.

2. Sulser is older, has had some injuries, and was a former waiver claim. The value we got from him on the team plus being able to trade him for something is huge. 

3. I can't stand watching Scott pitch and it was clear he wasn't turning the magical corner anytime soon. Getting too expensive and we might have found a similar guy in Perez anyway.

4. The return is solid, period. The pick is huge.

No but it allows you to have more money at your disposal if you want to spread it out.  They could “punt” that pick and gain extra money if they want to.

Sulser was always frustrating to me. Overall good numbers last season but it's seems every time he was brought in to pressure situation, he faltered. As far as Scott, disappointed to see him go but one wonders if he is what he has shown to be. Opens up two spots on the 40 as well

I don't really see the bullpen being much worse after this. Sulser is the bigger loss since he's steady, sure. But Scott is no big loss IMO. Lot of young upside guys ready to pitch in the pen now.

His dad had Boras as an agent and they have advisers. I’m not saying the kid is not going to sign but I get wanting another pick.
