Going to be a few more games in which the pen blows a lead.

Some of us don't enjoy that and would rather not see it.

You don’t know that.  Scott wasn’t exactly good last year and Sulser is a complete wild card.  It’s very possible that you replace them with young arms and they do as well or better.

It’s not like we just traded 2 guys with excellent track records of being good.

Like the deal. Keep adding to the prospect and lottery ticket pile.

Sulser was always frustrating to me. Overall good numbers last season but it's seems every time he was brought in to pressure situation, he faltered. As far as Scott, disappointed to see him go but one wonders if he is what he has shown to be. Opens up two spots on the 40 as well

At some point, you need to trade some of those tickets or most will become worthless

Wonder why the Marlins need a 27 yo lefty reliever with command issues and a 32 yo journeymen reliever ?

They hope to be more competitive and these guys aren’t making much money. Willing to risk long shot players and a pick.

Right, maybe no one in the pen gives up any runs all year.

Odds are good that the guys we had will be better than the guys that replace them.

The bullpen might be better without Scott, and Lakins can do a decent Sulser impression when healthy.

This is a great trade because the pen doesn't get much worse to me, and there's a decent chance its a little better if the upside guys pan out.

Tanner Scott is a bad pitcher, folks. He is who he is at this point.

Wow, people are really underestimating Tanner Scott’s potential IMO.

Oh he has potential.  He could have been a major trade chip this July if he had a good season.  That is the risk Here imo.

But he has largely not been good in the majors and has had a lot of chances to get better.

Every young arm left in camp should make the roster.  See who can start, who can relieve and who is nothing.  Getting these 2 out of here makes it that much easier to do that.

It’s basically a one month trial until the roster gets reduced.

Odds are good that none of them will be any good and losing any of them effect nothing on this team.

So, wtf?  Take the chance on the younger players.  Velez could be better than Scott THIS year.  It’s possible.

The risk of dealing him is he figures it out this year and the deal at the deadline could have been much higher. Always a risk with an arm like that. However it’s just potential.

I don't consider any ML player with a positive career WAR "Bad".

I guess I'm not as hard on players as some folks.

This, some of you all are acting like the Orioles traded away good players. Not guys who blew plenty of leads on their own last year (especially Scott). The replacements might not be any better, but it's not like these were two dependable above average options.

Trade also clears space on the 40 man
