The LF wall tracker

What surprises me with 5 full games. Is how little of a factor the wall has been so far. It's almost like the players on both teams are actively avoiding hitting it that direction.

Edit: Now that I say that there will probably be three or four plays involving said wall in today's game.

Or maybe folks just overestimated how much impact there was going to be?

Mountcastle single in 8th 4/17/22 vs Yanks. Deeper positioning playing a role?

I think that kind of stuff will make this thread very annoying to keep track of. My brain would probably fry halfway into the season. Haha!

Good thought though.

I just happened to be on the board when this play happened. I can guarantee you I’m not going to be seeing them all.

Me either, I think this has to be a community effort. That being said, the O's did score all their runs with two out I believe. So it did play in the final outcome of the game. I'll see if I can get a replay of it. Anyone else want to chime in on this play?.

I believe the LF, Gallo, could have caught the ball as it happened.

I also believe he would certainly have caught it if he had been positioned a few feet closer to the IF, which almost certainly would have been the case w the old configurations.

The Mountcastle single is at 3:42 in this vid. That probably does get caught in 2021. I had my back turned stuffing my face with Easter dinner. Good on calling that one out Eddie!

So I guess it is Visitors-1 Orioles-1

That looked like a playable ball either way.

So 2 series at home and the wall was only challenged one time (Mancini) in terms of deep fly balls. I would have thought for sure Aaron Judge would send one out there even if it was a catch at the warning track. Camden played ice cold through its first two 2022 series.
