Thanks.  There are some others that should join him.  It's a cruel world.

Hate to see anyone lose a job but you can’t keep everyone and, let’s face it, getting out of this organization may not actually be a bad thing.

I thought they would wait another 2-3 weeks, but I can’t argue with this move, especially for Gunnar.   I’m really excited to see how these two do in AAA.   If Gunnar continues to rake there, we have a real beast on our hands!

I pity Bowie’s fan base.  That team was lousy already and they just lost their two best players.

Hopefully, they perform well.  I think we are getting close to the pipeline being officially opened.   Rutschmann.    Now we have Stowers, Westburg, and Henderson at Norfolk.    We need need some guys from Aberdeen (Cowser!  Mayo! Norby!) to step it up and join Prieto in Bowie.   Servideo and Kjerstad, hopefully coming back soon.

I can see Norby and Cowser getting moved up to Bowie soon if they are able get on a little hot streak. Burns is another one, although he’s been hitting all season.

Aberdeen is still a little bit crowded with infielders and they could be thinking the friendlier confines of Bowie could get these guys who have underwhelmed jump started a bit.

Mayo stays in Aberdeen all season IMO.

Happy to see this move.  I'd like to see Westburg mostly play 2B and Gunnar mostly play 3B, with both of them occasionally getting a look at SS.  I think of all of the current Oriole infielders (not including 1B), Mateo is the one most likely to be a regular player in Baltimore next season, because of his stellar defense, while 2B and 3B for next season are more up for grabs.

I'd be very happy to see Owings released and Martin promoted to Baltimore.

Norby and Cowser make sense.    Norby can play 2B, and Prieto and Ortiz and play all 3 spots.    I also think they want to push Cowser up to Bowie as soon as he shows any kind of hot streak.   It doesn't look good if he stays down at Aberdeen all year.    You might be right no Mayo.   I think it's an either/or on him and Norby and Norby is 2 years older and probably a better rounded hitter.

Jorge Mateo is an automatic out at the plate.

Pretty much.  Strike out after strike out.  I'm glad they are getting a nice long look at him, but he is proving to likely not be an every day player.  (Fine as a utility guy).

It won’t look good if he goes to Bowie and is embarrassingly bad, either.  They should bring him up when he’s ready, and not before.

That said, I can think of guys who didn’t really earn a promotion, but got pushed up and did better at the next level.  DJ Stewart 2016  comes to mind — he had a .719 OPS in Delmarva for half a season, got promoted at the halfway point, then posted .837 at Frederick in the second half of the year.
