You know, this is the middle of a long, 13-game stretch with no days off (a rain delay and postponement isn't really the same as a day off).  Moving guys around like this has to be a matter of situational necessity in addition to any kind of "plan" about bringing Hall up. 

I mean, I was thinking about how Watkins being in the bullpen might be what they envisioned as a way to make room for Hall all along.  

But I wonder if, instead, they were simply short of guys available in the bullpen to last the remainder of this road trip?

Dunno, I think they were maybe trying to catch lightning in a bottle by bringing Hall up.
