Seth Johnson and Basillo to Bowie per Kostka.. more than what I was hoping for Johnson this year.

Strongly disagree, and it won’t happen. The guy hasn’t pitched in 18 months, and his next game at AA will be his first.  Heck, he’s only started 9 games at High A.

I’d love to see it but I think he’s probably destined for Bowie unless he’s otherworldly in Spring Training. Even then Elias probably wants him to first succeed in Bowie before graduating to Norfolk. I do hope he can be fast tracked. I have high hopes for Mr. Seth Johnson.

Honestly, I did think he had already pitched in AA. He probably will start there but whatever. He’s going to be 24 in less than 2 weeks. He has a big time arm and upside. He would be in AAA right now, at least, if he hadn’t been hurt. I’m guessing there’s a chance he goes to AFL. If he does and does well and then goes to ST and does well, AAA is possible imo.

But yea, AA is more likely.

I think Johnson has more upside than either McDermott or Povich. Barring injury he should be pushing his way into the Orioles' rotation by August, if not earlier.

Just as a heads up, that Jersey Shore gun is notorious for being very hot, perhaps 2-4 MPH hot at times.

The guy has one game above A+.  He may have more upside, but we will have to be a bit more patient then you are suggesting.

Johnson lost a year to TJS and will turn 26 years old this coming season.  He was drafted 40th overall (just ahead of Gunnar) in 2019 by a Tampa organization known for developing top pitching prospects. So long as he stays healthy I expect the Orioles to put him on a fast track to the big leagues.
