Certainly not an exciting signing.  Has some pop.  I'm okay with him as a spot starter like Nevin was last year, but this better not be them filling the Aguilar/Mancini hole.

Well I guess Roch was correct. We definitely not going all in the Tier 1 guys.

How does a split contract work? Does that mean he is optionable throughout the year? 
 

The Diaz claim made a little bit of sense, low risk and the guy can play a solid 1B. Cordero isn’t making sense to me right now

I'd be incredibly disappointed if this is one of the two bats Elias was referring to. But you might be right.

Pretty impressive they spent 450k on a guy to play AAA.  Can’t say they are going cheap…

Most of us will be too! This is infuriating and depressing at the same time if this is one of the bats he wanted to add. It probably is though because why would he give him a split contract and guarantee him 450k for just the minors.
