A different offseason game…if you could bring back one non-HOF Oriole for the 2023 O’s, who would it be?

1980 Stone and 1995 Brown stand out in memory as great seasons, but B-Ref has them both around 4 WAR.

Trezza's piece from a couple years back gave Hoyt Wilhelm a nice call-out.      If you just got the guy in his Opening Day form that year, I do somewhat wonder if "off the time machine" Wilhelm's repertoire might play close to Palmer/Mussina.

Only Urban Shocker, not Mussina, joins Palmer with two Top 10 single seasons on B-Ref's franchise page:

WAR for Pitchers †
1. Jim Palmer  1975 8.4
2. Mike Mussina  1992 8.2
3. Urban Shocker  1921 7.8
4. Hoyt Wilhelm  1959 7.6
5. Bump Hadley  1933 7.4
6. Ned Garver  1950 7.3
  Jim Palmer  1977 7.3
  Lefty Stewart  1930 7.3
9. Nels Potter  1945 7.2
10. Urban Shocker  1922 7.1

Give me Don Baylor, Brady Anderson and Singleton for the outfield.

Plug in Melvin Mora anywhere in the infield

Add peak Scotty McGregor to the rotation

And Len Sakata as emergency catcher

I'd take Mickey Tettleton, Melvin Mora, Al Bumbry, and Scott McGregor

You guys gotta pump the brakes.  Frobby asked for one player, you guys are trying to field an entire team.  James Earl Jones and Kevin Costner aren't walking through that door, folks.

Why Tettleton?  He's not playing in front of Adley.
