GRod is developing into a #1.  Bradish a #2.   Wells and Means #3s.  Kremer a #4.   Nice rotation.

This is a good way of looking at what our rotation might be next season, although at his peak Means was better than a #3.

When you look at it like this, it's not so clear that we need to get a controllable quality starter for next season.  We need an upgrade this year because we can't count on getting much from John Means.  A rental package like Montgomery/Hicks could be just the ticket.

Kudos to the development team in AAA. They did the same turnaround with Bradish last year. Also, this is another example of how players can get sent down and it’s not the end of the world.

We’re going to have a really strong 26 man roster for awhile. We’re going to have to get used to rotating guys in/out based on performance and rest. The Rays demote/promote a lot of guys throughout the season. That’s how you consistently compete over 162 without a huge payroll and PEDs.

Let's hope these next couple months Stuff+ shows some predictive aptitude.     He's climbing the AL Active Roster length pitcher ranks:

The Very Top 5: Bradish, Cole, Ohtani, Glasnow, Pivetta

Rest of Top 10: B. Miller, Cease, McClanahan, Grayson, Kopech

As bloodless analysts will tell you, pitches are just data, and whether the batter reacts effectively is uncontrollable for the Arm.

I will guess that only rarely in his baseball life has Felix Bautista had coaching getting to the nuance of letting the guy in the batter's box influence what he's trying to do, other then not walk the world.    We could use a Wandisson Charles breakthrough as soon as humanly possible, please.

He’s really starting to put it together. He’s even starting to play up his arm side run on his 98-99 mph fastball. He’s getting some “Maddux” like movement.

Be nice if he could throw at the left handler’s knees and have it run back like Maddux used to

Has anyone noticed how often Grayson draws a really tough opposing pitcher?   So far he’s faced off against Jacob deGrom, Dylan Cease, Eduardo Rodriguez, Zach Eflin, Shohei Ohtani, Jon Gray, Shane McClanahan, Gerritt Cole, and now tonight he’ll face Framber Valdez.   Well, I guess he won’t be intimidated come playoff time!

He's had some tough draws on the mound with him, but it's not been the opposing pitcher that has hurt him, but the batters. Hopefully, he keeps trending upward.

Yep, after outpitching Cole, a takedown of Framber would be impressive!

Several weeks ago, I said GR had psychological issues and, of course, was immediately flamed.  That last game, before he was sent down, he threw a temper tantrum on the mound.  Ben MacDonald was going over GR's issues and explicitly said he's too emotional.  Thanks for the confirm, Ben.

Since he's comeback he's like a new person.  Hyde is protecting him like a mother hen.  If GR can keep his head together, he's got more stuff than any other O's starter.

You should have gotten flamed.
