This 100%. The whole thing is a gimmick to move merch. If a team wants to be progressive and introduce a wacky alternate, that's fine, but I hate that Nike and the league have forced every team to do this from the top down.

As an aside, embracing your City Connect look reeks of low self-esteem. If your fans prefer the Nike merch-dump alternate composed of non-team colors to your normal look (looking at you, Washington and Miami), you are doing something seriously wrong.

What’s odd is that Nike refuses to do what Fanatics does and allow all four jersey colors to be sold as authentics, and customized.  In 2017, you could buy all four colored jerseys with the OPACY 25th Anniversary patch.  I got a Mancini and Davis, and at least one other.  At one point, I had six customized authentics total.  

Now, they don’t offer that option at all, and just started offering bare offerings of a Rutschman black alternate.  No orange alternates at all.

Until it’s confirmed I’m going to choose this isn’t the jersey. Just terrible.

I’m not a bit a big Maryland flag guy, but they could have at least worked the state flag into the uniform. 

Maybe the MASN production team was behind this effort.
