I think Hyde does too.     One of the other short starts he was detailed in the postgame presser he was frustrated he had to use Baumann long because they want to groom him for the 1-inning role.     Last few appearances fastball has looked hot.

I hope it’s mechanical - that seems fixable after some more painful outings. Presumably the analysis folks should be able to find something in his delivery and have him work through it. Probably in Norfolk.

Velocity seems to show that he’s not hurt.

What will be hardest to fix is if he’s in his own head about the injury. That’s not easy but if that’s the issue it will likely take a mix of time and the right help - not based on injury but I’d lay money that’s what happened to Matusz.

I was pretty hopeful after his previous start. I was watching from pitch one to see if he would be able to repeat it but he didn’t.  Very frustrating.

Yeah he needs to work on the command. From the very start he was up in the zone. The velocity was great. But just too many fastballs.
