I voted for him today and will tomorrow before the cutoff. Can't believe Heim looks like he's gonna beat him out

The ASG voting is a total cluster

Same here. I voted for him the last 2 nights. Another Orioles fan said he had 4 emails so he was voting 4 times a day for Adley lol.

It's been ridiculous since fans were allowed to vote.  Plus, since interleague play, it's meaningless.

I wish they would just do voting at the park like the old days. Way too easy for non fans and bots to skew the numbers.

They took it away from the fans for awhile in the old days too .. same reason.. home fan ballot stuffing

I totally agree. My first game at Candem Yards, they passed out ballots to all the fans. And it was fun to see who was in the ballot to vote for and talk about it with fans in the stands.

Including here. Not that I find these thing’s uncomfortable, I’ve found a lot of the comments here tonight lol-worthy. But I’d rather talk about the game instead of HIV and the right to marry. I can listen to my parents whine about that if I want.

I'd prefer to talk about the game too..but some of the comments on here tonight remind me of why Pride nights, and talking about this stuff is necessary, and in social spaces

So if you come into the game thread, and instead of talking about the game. you start talking about how much having to acknowledge Gay people in a social space one game a year makes you "hate em". Then that derails the game thread, but I don't think it should be ignored or treated as acceptable.

Doing things like this that are highly visible, help to show kids growing up that who they are is ok. LGTBQ youth are 4x as likely to attempt suicide vs straight teenagers (and the teenage suicide rate as a whole is to high). For one game a year, talking about stuff like this to help remove social stigma, and maybe save a few lives...just put the game on mute if it bugs you that much

    • Too many eggs in one basket for me.  Usually you either go quantity or quality.  This feels like both quality and quantity.  You are trading away 3 possibly 4 guys that can go directly into their starting lineup.  You never see a 4 for 1 with that much major league ready guys.  It usually 1 or 2 major league guys then a few lottery tickets with some upside.   Cease got you one major league ready prospect, a 21 year old decent pitcher in AA, A young toolsy outfielder in A ball and a 29 year old relief pitcher in the majors.
    • I'm going to disagree because I don't think hit for average is considered an "elite athlete" tool.  Elly De La Cruz is an elite athlete, so was Bubba Starling.  Mateo is an Elite athlete. You can be an elite athlete and still not be a good ML player.
    • I think when people say "elite athlete" about a baseball player, they mean that someone has the proverbial five tools--hit for average, hit for power, run, throw, field.   Someone like (say) Ronald Acuna Jr. or Gunnar Henderson.    Obviously there are great baseball players who never had all five tools (Frank Thomas) and players who were elite athletes who could have been better had they mastered other skills such as plate discipline (Adam Jones).   The "five tools" framework means that most catching prospects, including Basallo, will never be considered to be elite athletes, because they lack top-grade speed.   And it's rare that you would hear a pitcher described as an "elite athlete".
    • They are not going to trade Holliday for one starter.  They need a couple of bullpen arms before a starter.
    • It's closer than the vote totals seem to indicate IMO.  I honestly wouldn't be against it because I do think Crochet is top shelf talent.  And it does cash out some strong/buried assets too. I landed on appreciating what Cowser adds all around vs. questioning the bump he'd provide for 2024.
    • If Skubal is truly on the table, I’m definitely of the mindset to give up one of the big three as a trade centerpiece. For me, that’s Holliday given the potential of Mayo slotting at 3B and Westy moving back to 2B. Skubal is exactly what we need to go win a WS this year.
    • Where's @DirtyBird to downvote everyone that's saying 2/3 is fine? I hate Oakland.  Hate, hate, hate Oakland.  Every year it seems that they give us fits for no good reason, especially in their place.  And @Frobbythat's not an invite for you to go do research and be like "well, actually" if I'm wrong.   I can't name 5 players on their team and I'm sure they'll give us fits this weekend.  But I see Brent Rooker is still on the team.  If he doesn't have 5 homers and 20 RBI against us this weekend, I'll be surprised.
