Pitching needs help,  no doubt.  But I feel too many are only focusing on our pitching woes while acting like the lineup is good enough.   Both need some changes and help.   We can argue, perhaps, which is more needed.  Our runs scored per game has dropped steadily since April, as has our amount of winning.   Coincidence?

I said from the outset of this season that Gunnar should play his best defensive position and that’s SS. That alignment should be what they roll with for the remainder. Frazier has no business taking time from anyone and Mateo is a defensive specialist at best.

If he accepts the role, Mateo is as good of a pinch runner/situational defender as there is. Heck, shag some fly balls and see if he can play outfield in a pinch.
