Not sure if this was a joke or not, but apparently that artist posted that she was drunk during the performance, and is now checking into rehab.

I mean.....it is possible.

Because it was brutal.

Although has someone who has been to many karaoke and Korean Karaoke bars,  normally when you indulge in adult beverages?  You generally tend to sound better.  Not sure what happened there.

You only think you sound better after a few drinks.

It explains a lot, yeah, considering she's a 4-time Grammy winner.

Side note, if I'm a singer doing the anthem, I'm requiring someone in my in-ears playing reference notes on the key if I start to drift. That would have helped her a lot. Most people just go up there and let it rip and that's great, but on a national broadcast I'm not taking any chances.

Not that it matters...but she's never won a Grammy.  She is a 4 time nominee.

Can someone familiar with the Baltimore baseball media/tv scene explain the announcing partners to me?

Why do the announcing teams change so randomly?

Growing up in MI it was 2 people on the radio side, and 2 people on the TV side.  Never changed.

Pretty much the same here in the Los Angeles area.

And where is Jim Palmer and Brown?  I watch via the MLB app on the Os network fyi.

Just speculation on my part, but Palmer is just more of a part-timer. I don’t think he wants an extensive schedule, and I don’t think the O’s want to lose him. Palmer is the #1 color guy and Ben is the #2, even though Ben does more games and is just as well liked. The O’s cater to Palmer’s schedule.

Kevin Brown gets time off for his other endeavors. Tonight he’s doing the ESPN2 broadcast of Sunday Night Baseball. Similar to Palmer, if the O’s don’t want to lose Brown, they’re going to have to let him have a flexible schedule to accommodate his national broadcasts.

Geoff Arnold >>>>>> Kevin Brown

I like Geoff Arnold, I think he’s a good fill in. But the more I listen to Brown the more I like him. I think Baltimore is lucky to have him as a play-by-play guy. I do think he’s on a path to becoming a prominent national broadcaster.

Appreciate it.  I really like the Palmer and Brown combo.  Have not heard it in a while.

Yeah I don't understand the hate for Brown.   I grew up listening to Ernie Harwell and George Kell as play by play guys in MI.  And he is just as good.  I don't get the hate.

I bet Ernie just could not shut up when he discovered that George didn’t know who Led Zeppelin was.

    • That's the real issue. I'm not a lining up expert, but after the second penalty, you have to talk to refs and get a clarification and adjust.
    • It's absolutely not hyperbole. They had Mike Macdonald who brought his excellent defensive calls and schemes and could have "promoted" Bisciotti's buddy to official "Owner's Boy" and actually kept a head coach that brought something.  Harbaugh brings nothing but poor clock management, hugging players in the middle of the game when the game is still on going, telling players he loves them after a TD, and other Pre-K school teacher stuff. Plus, did anyone see that tool putting his hand over his heart during Lift "Every Voice and Sing"? You ONLY put your hand over your heart during the National Anthem. That's it. Not during "God Bless America", not during "This land is your land," not during any song but The Star Spangled Banner as dictated in the US Flag code. I didn't see a single player or coach, black or white, doing that during that song, but there was Harbaugh over there virtue signaling.  I'm not making this about race or even saying anything about that song which will quickly get political, but Harbaugh either knew what he was doing and was virtue signaling or has no clue on etiquette. I'm guessing the former.
    • Yeah, I don't know why it took so many flags before Ronnie got the hint to move closer to the LOS.
    • True, but after reaching 5 IP just once all year with Aberdeen, he went 6 and 7, respectively, his last two times.
    • I agree with the first two questions and agree that this offseason will be big for the middle one. The Kimbrel move has been a failure as far as FA and we really haven’t dabbled much there yet.   This offseason we’ve got a new owner and any governors that existed before (which we know with Angelos family there always was) should be off. I love the hitters we’ve developed and the overall talent that has come through. And if we want to leverage our strength and trade from it, I’m good with that too. We just need more pitching all the way around and hope that Elias is reflective and creative on how to get that done.
    • Or, you’re waiting two minutes for the LH turn signal, the arrow goes green, and the first car is daydreaming or texting, cases a 3-5 second delay and you don’t make it through.
    • They had 1 delay of game last night and used a timeout to avoid another, the illegal procedure penalties are hard to judge. The Chiefs tackles were lining up the same way and not getting called for it. Stanley said the rule wasn't enforced the way the officials that were out at camp with them explained it, I doubt we see that much going forward. The holding call against Linderbaum that negated a big run by Lamar was an absolute joke. The penalties that I have the biggest problem with are the bonehead plays like Van Noy hitting Mahomes in the head and Marcus Williams taking a shot at Mahomes knees when he's going out of bounds. Those were huge plays too.
