If it's a ball the inning isn't over and there is a runner on 2B if he doesn't make a throw. How was it a mental error? He didn't know Chapman was swinging.

Shouldn't the catcher assume his pitcher is throwing a strike? If you miss the ball the runner advances 100% of the time. If you catch it you get him maybe 50%.
