Has one option.  Soto has two.  Interestingly, Castillo had 97 walks to 79 strikeouts in AAA last year but only 3 homers in Reno, which is a hitters paradise.

That level of inaccuracy is actually comedic.

Soto might clear. Castillo seems like more immediate depth and not a project like Soto.

I’m sure if a pitcher worth claiming pops up they will do so.  Until then, they scan the waiver wire and ask “is this player better or a better fit than someone currently on our 40 man roster”?

How many days has he stayed on waiver?  He may have spent more days on waiver than with a team this offseason.

The 26-year-old Castillo has bounced from the D-backs, to the Mets, to the Yankees, to the Phillies and now to the Orioles all in the span of two months.

At this point, he probably feels more like a ping pong ball than a baseball player.
